The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the participant file known as the Medical Record.
Credentials, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
High School Diploma, GED, Technical Diploma or Associates Degree and 2 years clerical experience.
Fulfill credentialing requirements per agency policy.
Possess good communication skills both written and oral and strong organizational skills.
Administrative self-sufficiency including computer proficiency.
Possess valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record.Must meet insurability standards in order to drive.
Establish and maintain compliant participant files according to agency policies, contract and funder’s requirements, Joint Commission, Medicaid and HIPAA regulations.
Execute timely response to requests for participant electronic and paper files based on authorized and signed release of information/authorization forms.
Perform regular medical record audits to ensure chart integrity, identify document errors and implement timely completion of corrective actions.
- Assist program line staff with administrative functions as assigned.
Normal Working Hours and Conditions:
- Up to 20 hours per week.
- Occasional weekend or evening as required.
- Some travel may be required.

Rate of Pay:
This is an hourly position with an entry level rate of 11.50 per hour.
